1. CHILDREN IN HUMANITARIAN SITUATION IN THE LATIN AMERICA AND THE EUROPE: PERSPECTIVES ON GUARANTEEING THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION AND THE RIGHT TO HEALTH Ana Maria Eyng (Coordinator)


Description The project problematizes the guarantee of children's rights in humanitarian situation, embracing children in contexts of child poverty. The theoretical and methodological references support the analysis of the right to education and to health in the interfaces between child protection policies, reports of organizations and institutions that act in the protection of children in the fields of Health and Education and the perceptions of children and adolescents in everyday contexts in humanitarian situations. The research aims to: build network resources, in the Latin America and Europe, for sharing the best practices, procedures, and tools for training and raising professional standards in Education and Health for the care of children in humanitarian situations.

2. THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION IN CONTEMPORARY TIMES – NEO-MERITOCRACY AND NEW INEQUALITIES – POLITICAL ISSUES OF EVALUATION, CURRICULUM AND TEACHER TRAINING. Ana Maria Eyng (Coordinator)


Description: The research problematizes education as a right and/or as a economic good, in the new configuration of State and the economy. The debate occurs in contexts characterized and influenced by economic requirements and indicators that project a neo-meritocracy, expanding exclusion processes, as a consequence of the rising new inequalities. The implications and relationships between: teacher training, human rights, violence in schools and their implications in the curricula and evaluations of basic and higher education are addressed in the study. The project is associated with the Observatory of Violence in schools of PPGE/PUCPR and the network of researchers articulated by the UNESCO Chair in Youth, Education, and Society.
